Around the World, Around the World!

According to my map on Trip Advisor, I have travelled to 148 cities within 34 countries. Not bad for 15 yeas of adult life, but by some standards, no where near as many as i'd like.
My next venture in August takes me to a slightly ignored corner of Europe as i'll be flying to Kiev and driving to Moldova. Advertised as the Land of Wine and Women. Within Moldova lies another unrecognised 'Republic' known as Transnistria, the last bastion of the USSR. The only state in the world with the Hammer and Sickle still in it's flag and a curfew on it's social activities.
I can't wait!

As this blog is relatively new to my travelling career, i'll point out my countries already travelled (including Overseas territories) in alphabetical order lifted from my Couchsurfing profile :

Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland (Republic of), Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States, Vatican

Still plenty left to go!

The End of the Block

"You're crazy!" They always said.
"That's amazing!" They always declared.
"Did that REALLY happen?" They always asked.
"You should write a book about your adventures."

I've heard these four statements more than any others over the course of my adult life. The last one seemed to stick the most. Sadly, the more i pack into my already packed out life, the harder it is to remember each and every part of every story. Also, should this ever be read out loud in Court, i'd like SOME evidence to put together for my defence case in the Cloud.

Now, over a decade of travelling, at risk of becoming Rowley Birkin, and because Facebook's privacy settings are unknown to mankind, i've decided to have a crack at blogging my exploits for the Wide Web to see. They'll vary between work, travel, food and media with my own esoteric twist, and although as random as my exploits are, i hope the following retain some kind of order.

Let's get it on!
